The Tooth Fairy

Marla Ray has an interesting interpretation of everything as most children do... The other night while blow drying her hair she informed me about The Tooth Fairy or should I say Fairies she knew ALL about. I told her to tell me about it. She proceeded to tell me that being a Tooth Fairy is a career choice. If you want to be a Tooth Fairy you have to go to school for it and there is A LOT of PAPERWORK involved (more than KINDERGARTEN)! The paperwork includes lessons to "learn how to fly, and sneak tooths, and counting" cause there is a lot of counting involved with being a tooth fairy "you know with all those tooths and money" and even boys can be a tooth fairies too. (who knew?).

Which leads us to today... Marla Ray has a loose tooth now. She went to school today and her friend Kinley had lost a tooth over the weekend while eating an apple. This is how our conversation went...

Me: "Did you have a good day?"

MR: "yes mam, Kinley lost a tooth."

Me: "She did?"

MR: "yes mam, She said she bit into an apple and felt something in her mouth and thought it was a seed so she spit it out and it was white. And she said, "That's not a seed" and it was her tooth!

Me: "Wow! Isn't that something"

MR: "It sure is. And you know what Momma... I asked her how much the Tooth Fairy brought her and she said the Tooth Fairy didnt come see her"

Me: (shocked) "Really?"

MR: "Yeah, Kinley's Tooth Fairy must have taken the night off, or gone on vacation or something. I sure hope mine doesn't decide to do that when I lose my tooth...

Me: "Yeah me neither." (very seriously but cracking up inside)

Who knew the Tooth Fairy had vacation and time off benefits...

Im gonna let Bryan in on that little secret!!! A getaway sounds nice...
